“Black Lies Matter”

“Black lies matter” he said with a smile,
With a need to demean,
to degrade,
to defile.

The social upheaval of our time made a joke,
To quickly dismiss,
with a sneer,
and a poke.

Three simple words said in response to my query,
To enforce the great caste,
Pecking order,
Superiority.

Minorities, and women, LGBT, and the poor,
Second class citizens,
“Them,”
Nothing more.

Hundreds of years later, the battle rages on,
With subtle manipulation,
Lost rights,
What a con.

But this is America, you know, “We the People,”
“land of the free,”
The same,
created equal,

I’ll take my stand with the oppressed and downtrodden,
And fight to the death,
For equal rights,
Still forgotten.

I'd like an "a" please!!!

Colin’s Callin’

Heads are exploding,
Tempers are rising.
A black man has spoken,
Why is that surprising?

Wants equal rights,
For one and for all.
A simple cause really,
Let’s answer the call.

But many resist,
Their minds are a flippin’.
Take him to the wood shed,
And give him a whippin’.

Many offer support,
Free speech is his right.
On-duty military,
Jump into the fight.

Another voice heard,
Gays join in the mix.
Equal rights for all,
Won’t be an easy fix.

The President speaks,
Of “legitimate issues.”
Racist’s heads burst,
More hatred ensues.

It’s not just about blacks,
But for women and the poor.
Minorities and religions,
And so many more.

Votes unabated,
Equal education for all.
Health care for women,
And justice for all.

Today is the day,
And now is the time.
Let’s answer his call,
Equal rights in our time.

American Family Association Petitions NFL To Discipline Player For Not Standing During The National Anthem

When Donald Trump says America isn’t great, the right wing wets themselves in adoration. But when a sports star says America isn’t great, he gets deluged with death threats and calls for him to be fired. Enter the American Family Association:
As a player who wears a professional football uniform, Kaepernick is a public representative of the National Football League and the San Francisco 49ers football team. His actions continue to embarrass all professional sports and bring reproach on his team. America is also stunned at his overt disrespect for the nation that guarantees him the freedom to earn millions of dollars each year.

It is important for the NFL to take necessary steps to insure that its players, coaches, and teams show proper respect for our country and our police officers. If Kaepernick is allowed to continue his deeply offensive actions, it will only lead to other such movements by other players in the future. Sign the petition calling on the NFL to take disciplinary action against Colin Kaepernick for his disrespectful actions while engaged in official NFL activities.
Right wing sites are pointing to the recent example of Curt Schilling, who was fired by ESPN after posting a viciously anti-transgender cartoon on his social media accounts.

Translation:  The NFL better get control of their uppity nigger and take him to the woodshed for a good whippin or else.

Sadly, I learned yesterday that a former co-worker, John Dzama died September 1st.  He will be forever remembered as the officer who had a pillow made out of a uniform shirt so he could carry it in his unit and not alert the supervision.  He was a great guy.  John was 66.

In case you think that racism isn't a problem any longer in this country.
