Cycles of
Life
The last leaves have fallen,
The branches are bare.
The last days of fall,
Disappear in thin air.
The fields now lay barren,
The crops in the barn.
Nights by the fireplace,
Dad spinning a yarn.
Flannel sheets and a comforter,
For young and for old.
Wood brought for the fireplace,
To ward off the cold.
A new blanket of snow,
Signals winter’s debut.
The sun dipping low,
In horizon’s pursuit.
Give your loved ones a hug,
And avoid any strife.
Let us bask in the glow,
In the cycles of life.
