Another New Year

Party hats and poppers are all put away,

Champagne headaches are the order of the day.

Parades and football on the big screen TV,

Nachos and guacamole for no extra fee.

Another new year filled with lofty aspirations,

The righting of wrongs and full restitutions.

The hope for good health and added good cheer,

And a winning lottery ticket to pay for the beer.

The possibilities are endless and optimism high,

Let’s shot for the moon and reach for the sky.

There’s no idea too weird, no dream too bizarre,

You write you own script and you be the star.

It’s another new year and your slates been wiped clean,

So update your plan or hatch a new scheme.

It’s another new year and our sentiments are clear,

Calm winds and smooth sailing for all we hold dear.
