With Christmas just a week away,

I’m almost ready I have to say.

The outside lights are on the eaves,

Though climbing the ladder gave me the heaves. 

 

The tree is up and stockings hung,

And Christmas carols are being sung.

Presents appearing now under the tree,

Gosh I hope there’s one for me. 

 

The Christmas cards are in the mail,

Sent to loved ones without fail.

Plans for the meal are underway,

A turkey and dressing to mark the day.

 

So a heartfelt happy holidays to all,

I hope you aren’t stuck at the mall.

I’ll raise my glass and give a toast,

To friends and loved ones from coast to coast.
