Cheryl Ladd from the original "Charlies Angels" series is 59 years old.

Figure skating legend Kristi Yamaguchi is 39 years old.

I think I mentioned earlier that Ontario City Councilman Alan Wapner led a drive to have "In God We Trust" placed around the city seal in the council chambers. Here is a photo of the results. Here is a link www.dailybulletin.com/letters/ci_15487231) to the letter I wrote to the local newspaper voicing my dissatisfaction with their actions. My letter is the second one down on the page. More letters will follow.
It is said that religion was created by man to combat their fear of dying.
I have to say my feminism is what got me started down the road to my atheism. It had to do with really thinking about the whole Adam & Eve thing. Why is Eve left holding the bag for original sin? Didn't Adam eat of the forbidden fruit along with Eve?

Now if you read the story closely, you find that Adam was specifically told not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil or he would die before Eve was on the scene. So didn't Adam directly disobey "God?" Isn't that worse than being deceived by satan? (Interestingly the spell check wants me to capitalize satan!!!) Why doesn't man get more of the blame?

By the way, why didn't Adam and Eve die after eating the fruit as "God" had said?? Adam lived to be 930 years old!! Oh wait, I know the answer to this one!!! The "death" that Adam & Eve suffered was their seperation from "God." Hmmm!!!

A second by the way; Why would a loving parent place something so enticing in front of their children and send someone over to tempt them to try it and then slap them down for doing it??

And by the way again; If "God" knows all, then why couldn't he see Adam & Eve hiding in the garden and have to call out to them asking where they were? Why didn't he know before hand that Adam and Eve would eat the fruit? Too many why's for me thank you very much.

4th of July in Afghanistan. Wanna support our troops?? Lets bring them home and out of harm's way.
Sadly, Paraguay was beaten by Spain in the World Cup 1-0. No running naked in the streets for her this year!! On the bright side, Karen is still in the running for the office pool as she has Spain to win!!

Hope you had a great 4th of July!!

This dickhead (DH) is Republican Barry Wong and he is a candidate for the Arizona Corporation Commission. DH Wong is the grandson of Chinese immigrants. If elected, DH Wong wants to verify the immigration status of new utility customers and then proceed to current customers. DH Wong wants to deny utilities to any undocumented immigrant and shut off the services of any current customer who is found to be here illegally.

DH Wong is quoted as saying, "is power or natural gas or any type of utility a right that people have? Is it a right or a service? Cutting electricity, water, natural gas, even telephone lines at the homes of illegal immigrants would lower the costs for the rest of the state's customers."

Glenn Hamer, the president and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry disagrees with Wong stating, "“Today is the third day in a row when Phoenix-area temperatures will reach 110 degrees or higher. Since you’re a native Phoenician, I don’t need to remind you of the peril our state’s most vulnerable residents face in our summer heat. To deny someone access to electricity based on his or her immigration status is not only a wrongheaded policy proposal, it’s just cruel,” Hamer wrote.

“Your claim that your proposal is somehow consumer-friendly is absurd. The costs of implementing your plan would be borne by ratepayers, never mind the hit taxpayers would take as police and fire departments would increasingly be responding to heat-related emergencies.”

Can you see just how ugly this has gotten? And people wonder why Hispanics are fleeing Arizona in droves. What a dickhead!!
On June 27th, people of the Gulf of Mexico region came together for "a day of prayer for the regions affected by the oil spill that has sent millions of gallons of crude gushing into the Gulf of Mexico."

The day was sponsored by the governors of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas, and the Lt. governor of Florida, who all issued proclamations calling on their citizens to "pray for a solution that stops the leak and for the recovery of the coastline and fish and wildlife industries devastated by the April 20 BP oil rig explosion that killed 11 workers."

Cindy Jacobs, co-founder of the U.S. Reformation Prayer Network, told Charisma.com that her network has been praying since the spill occurred in April. She said, "Our prayer network all along the Gulf is fervently praying."

Today is July 3rd. The oil is still gushing. Hmm!!
