Stockings!!!

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Dwayne Bernard Hickman who turns 79 years young today.  Dwayne was born in Los Angeles and has a B.A. degree in economics from Loyola Marymount University.  Dwayne is married to actress and writer Joan Roberts and they have one son.

 

Dwayne may be best known for his role as Dobie Gillis in the series "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" with his bud and fellow Loyola student, Bob Denver as Maynard G. Krebs.  Today Dwayne works behind the cameras for CBS.

Jack I hope you're sitting down.  LOL!!  For those of you who know me, it's damn near a felony to put a hammer in my hand.  I am proud to announce that Karen and I replaced the toilet in our front bathroom today.  Karen was the brains and I was the muscle.  OK - most of the muscle.  Josh and Corey helped carry the new toilet in and the old out.   And after four flushes, it doesn't seem to be leaking!!! 

 

This was really in response to the told saying, necessity is a great motivator.  The toilet had started to leak at the base after each flush, so it was necessary to get it replaced.  And, as you all know, a home project isn't complete until you have made at least two visits to Home Depot.  We opened the package and found the toilet's tank was missing and had to take it back.  The toilet in the back bathroom will be replaced soon as well. Oh and it was on sale for $139.00!! 

 

Memorial Day is next weekend.  I say bring them all home!!  By the way, the patch on his left shoulder is for the 1st. Cavalry Division stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas.  I spent 32 months at Ft. Hood in the 1st Cav Division in the 545th M.P. Company.

If you're a hockey fan you know that the players grow beards when they are in the playoffs.  My son Josh has started his playoff beard to support the LA Kings who are in the second round of the playoffs against the dreaded San Jose Sharks.  The Kings won game #1 last night 2-0 and Josh was lucky enough to be able to attend the game. 

 

We made it home from our vacation in one piece.  We had a great time visiting with Brian and his family, even though Amelia never really warmed up to me.  We saw a lot of Florida and drove over 2200 miles in our 15 days of vacation.  Back to work tomorrow and Friday.
