Where is the Christian outrage, the hand wringing, the rending of
clothing, and public outcry, for the sanctity of marriage and it's
primary use for procreation now?? 26-year old Afton Burton is going to
marry serial killer Charles Manson, who is serving a life sentence and
won't be able to consummate their marriage.

The actual text of the amendment would read:
The State of Mississippi hereby acknowledges the fact of her identity as a principally Christian and quintessentially Southern state, in terms of the majority of her population, character, culture, history, and heritage, from 1817 to the present; accordingly, the Holy Bible is acknowledged as a foremost source of her founding principles, inspiration, and virtues; and, accordingly, prayer is acknowledged as a respected, meaningful, and valuable custom of her citizens. The acknowledgments hereby secured shall not be construed to transgress either the national or the state Constitution’s Bill of Rights. The initiative would also make English the official state language "requiring all governmental services, functions, or communications to be rendered “in the English language only.”
So things start out with a simple slogan of "In God We Trust" placed on walls of city council chambers, then progresses to having a statute of the ten commandments in the halls of the court houses. Finally this is what it come to. Watch for it in your city, county, or state. "In God We Trust" is on the wall of the Ontario city council chambers already.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Mary "Marg" Helgenberger who turned 56 years young yesterday. (Sunday the 16th) Marg is divorced from actor Alan Rosenberg and they have one son, Hugh Rosenberg, who is 24 years old.
Marg started out here career as a soap star in the series "Ryan's Hope". She was the co-star in the series "China Beach" with another of my faves, Dana Delany. She played K.C. Koloski, a heroin addicted prostitute and civilian volunteer at the hospital. The series ran for four seasons from 1988 to 1991.
Marg may be best known as "Catherine Willows" in the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". Marg has been in that role since 2000 when the series first started and has completed 264 episodes.
I just saw Marg in a rerun of one of her old movies, (1997) "Fire Down Below" with Steven Seagal.

"I firmly believe in small gestures: pay for their coffee, hold the door
for strangers, over tip, smile or try to be kind even when you don’t
feel like it, pay compliments, chase the kid’s runaway ball down the
sidewalk and throw it back to him, try to be larger than you are—
particularly when it’s difficult. People do notice, people appreciate. I
appreciate it when it’s done to (for) me. Small gestures can be an
effort, or actually go against our grain (“I’m not a big one for paying
compliments…”), but the irony is that almost every time you make them,
you feel better about yourself. For a moment life suddenly feels
lighter, a bit more Gene Kelly dancing in the rain."

I agree with this in many aspects. I'd like to add pick up a piece of trash even if it's not yours. The hardest time for me is driving. Some people are just so rude when they drive.

It would seem that a Unitarian Universality church in Mountain Home, Arkansas, put a letter in the local newspaper stating that they welcomed everyone at their church regardless of their race, religion, or sexuality. In no time at all the church had a window shot out and the note shown below left behind.
The article has a subtitle of "They'll know we are Christians by out love..." which is a popular Christian hymn. The part that struck me is how the writer describes President Obama. I guess it's safe to say we still have a race problem in this country. "True Southerners"? Republican for sure.
