Cindy Williams started her acting career in commercials for Foster Grant sunglasses and TWA. Her first TV roles were on "Room 222", "Nanny and the Professor" and "Love American Style", all 70's classics.
Cindy Williams' jump to stardom started with her roll as Ron Howard's girlfriend Laurie in George Lucas' film "American Graffiti" in 1973. (1973!!!!!)
But her real claim to fame came in her role as Shirley Feeney in the sitcom "Laverne & Shirley". The show ran from 1976 to 1983 when Cindy became pregnant with her first child.
Since then Cindy has been the executive producer of the very funny Steve Martin films, "Father of the Bride" and it's sequel, "Father of the Bride II." She has also performed on Broadway as Mrs. Tottendale in the cast of "The Drowsy Chaperon".
So, one - two - three- four-five - six - seven- eight, schlemiel, schlimazel, hasenpfeller incorporated. Happy Birthday to Cindy Williams.
