John Winston Lennon - Born October 9, 1940 Liverpool, England. English rock musician, singer, writer, songwriter, artist, actor, peace activist, husband and father of two sons, Julian Lennon and Sean Ono.
John Lennon played the guitar, piano, bass, harmonica and banjo.
John played and sang with such groups at The Quarrymen, Plastic Ono Band, The Dirty Mac, and oh yeah, a little band called The Beatles.
On the night of 8 December 1980 Mark David Chapman shot Lennon in the back four times (the fifth shot missed) in the entrance hallway of the Dakota. Lennon had autographed a copy of Double Fantasy for Chapman earlier that same night. Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival in the Emergency Room at the Roosevelt Hospital at 11:15 p.m. (Wikipedia)
