Today is the 20-year anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake in San Francisco. It was a 7.1 earthquake that struck just as World Series game 3 between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A's began. There were 63 people killed and 3,757 injured as a result of the earthquake.
I remember watching the drama of the search and rescue effort for people caught on the freeway when in pancaked on top of itself.
I was watching the World Series pregame show when the earthquake struck and the television signal was lost.
My little sister Kathy was living in San Francisco at the time and I'm sure she has some vivid memories of the earthquake.
