Ouch!!!

Looks like I'm a 3rd striker!!!

Ah!!!  The drive-in movie!!!

This was my first car, a 1954 Chevy Belair 2 door.  It looked like this, including that nice baby blue color, except for the wide white wall tires and the sun visor above the windshield.  It had white wall tires, but not that wide.  It even had the skirts covering the back tires. 

It had a straight 6 engine and a hydromatic transmission.  There was so much room in the engine compartment, you could actually sit on the fender with your feet inside the engine compartment when you worked on it. 

Its time for a road trip.  I am going to the 2011 Midwest Humanist and Freethought Conference being held in Omaha, Nebraska, August 12th thru the 14th.  On the way back, I'm stopping to see a high school friend in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

Looks like I will leave on Tuesday the 9th and drive to Omaha in four days.  I will return thru Oklahoma City, Ok and then west on the 40.  More as the time approaches.

Heard a helicopter and sirens approaching my house from the west.  Looked out the front door and saw the police helicopter pass overhead and heard sirens pass on the freeway.  Turned on Channel 9 news and low and behold, a police pursuit that had started about 8:00 pm.  As I type this, it is now 10:44 pm and the car continues to run.  He is back out in the valley heading N/B on the 5 frwy.

The news is stating that the suspect is a 3rd striker and his passenger has been on her cell phone with relatives and the police.  The suspect says he isn't going to stop.  Famous last words. 

N/B 5 approaching the 210 frwy.  Just watched the CHP change pursuing units with three new units that were sitting on an on ramp waiting for the pursuit to pass. 

Still N/B on the 5.  Maybe he's heading for Magic Mountain!!!

The pursuit has passed three hours, averaging 75 mph.  The car has traveled over 200 miles!!! 

The CHP helicopter has turned around and Channel 9 is stopping as well.  So I guess we won't see the end of it.  I'll have to catch the news in the morning.

I have to admit, this is me most mornings.

Is that front tire supposed to look like that??  I do believe that things in that riders life are about to get bloody. 

I may have a frappicino problem!!!

Karen and I went to the local park for fireworks on the 4th of July.
