"I Want to Hold Your Hand" was released fifty years ago yesterday in the United States.  It was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and went to #1 in the US the following January.  It held the #1 spot for seven weeks (back when that sort of thing mattered) only to be replaced by "She Loves You."  Makes you feel old doesn't it?  This video is of The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show on February 9th, 1964.  I remember watching that performance on our black and white television in Chino.

I love that truck too.

We'll be watching "A Christmas Carol" with George C. Scott as Scrooge again this Christmas Eve.

These are funny commercials.

Google predecessor?

I didn't think "Happy Holidays" was allowed on a Fox station.  Better not let Bill O'Reilley see that!!

Went for a bike ride Wednesday and will be riding to the beach tomorrow on our regular Sunday beach ride.  As you can see my bike is properly adorned with a big red bow for the Christmas Season.  I wonder if I can get another bow on the front??  This picture was taken at a park in Riverside about 5 miles from my start point at Fairmont Park.  My out and back bike ride is just under 25 miles in length.  I'm thinking of going for a ride on Christmas Eve rather than brave the mall this year.  I did the WC Fashion Plaza on Friday and it was a mad house.
Friday Mormon thick Utah began marrying same-sex couples after their state Supreme Court said that their state law banning same-sex marriages is unconstitutional.  This will be state #18 if my memory serves me right.

Our neighbors across the street won the Christmas decorating contest again this year.  It would appear that quantity makes all the difference in the contest.  Blow up characters also seem to be the trend.  There seem to be a lot of lights on houses this year.  I believe it shows how much the economy has improved.

We have added a few things to our lighting as well.  This year we added the two candy cane things on the hill and, it's hard to make out, but between the two candy canes is a picture projected onto the wall.  We also added the string of lights along the driveway and a couple of new deer grace the side yard.  I had to mount the projector midway up the hill so I got a 10' piece of PVC pipe and a three way joint to mount it in the hill.
