Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife Karen who turned somewhere around 29 years old Monday. We celebrated by going to Vegas for the weekend. Had a great time. Saw the Blue Man Group. Lost a few bucks but that's to be expected.

Karen shares her birthday with another "Pretty Woman", Julia Roberts, who is a bit younger.

A 20-year old waiter for the Carrabba's Italian grill in Overland Park, Kansas, provided exemplary service but his anti-gay customers refused to tip him because of his sexual orientation.  Instead they left him a note which read;

"Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. (Homosexual slur) do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours," the customer wrote. "We hope you will see the tip your (homosexual slur) choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD's love, but none shall be spared for (homosexual slur). May GOD have mercy on you."

According to one account of this incident, the "homosexual slur"  used by the customers was queer/s.  Why do these people do these kinds of things?  According to their bible, the greatest command of them all is to love god, and love one another.  I find these types of incidents so sad.

Note:  they weren't too upset about his sexual orientation when they allowed him to serve them.  They could have asked for another table. Only when they had to open their pocket book and share a little of their "wealth of God" were they bothered.   So sad.  http://www.kctv5.com/story/23784990/anti-gay-customers-refuse-tip-to-server-other-patrons-rally-around-him

If you don't believe there are some severe right-wing nut jobs out there, meet Kevin Swanson.  Kevin Swanson is a right-wing radio host and the pastor of the Reformation Church OPC in Castle Rock Colorado. He message: Don't buy Girl Scout cookies.

Swanson - The individualism of feminism has been devastating to this country. I’d say you ought to say no to Girl Scout cookies too. I don’t want to support lesbianism, I don’t want to support Planned Parenthood and I don’t want to support abortion, and if that be the case I’m not buying Girl Scout cookies. Now I suppose if you take a big, fat, black magic marker and you say, ‘give me that box,’ and you start marking out all of the references to the Girl Scouts of America on all the boxes then maybe we’re not promoting that organization anymore and I’d be willing to buy it. Maybe it’s not food offered to idols anymore if I had the opportunity to scratch out references to the Girl Scouts of America on the boxes of the Girl Scout cookies offered to me at Safeway.

Swanson alleged that girls shouldn't participate in Girl Scout sales because they might then think it is acceptable to be “a woman who is going to compete with men in the marketplace,” when they should train their daughters on how to become “a woman who will be a help meet to a man so he can compete in the marketplace.”

Swanson added that Girl Scouts are creating a generation of independent women who will put a “communisin (I think he means communist) in the White House” and promote the “gay and lesbian agenda.”

So if you needed a reason to buy more Girl Scout cookies, I don't, then here ya go.

Karen and I went to the Chaffey H.S. marching band competition last Saturday.  It was a good time.  I love a good marching band.  Take a few minutes to watch the Ohio State Marching Band tribute to Michael Jackson.  They even have Michael doing the moon walk.  This is an awesome show!!!

This morning the great state of New Jersey became the 14th state to allow same-sex marriages.  Illinois could be next!!!

After standing up to the tea bag Republicans over Obamacare and the government shut down, President Obama had this to say;

“I recognize there are folks on the other side who think that my policies are misguided. That's putting it mildly. That's OK. That's democracy. That's how it works. We can debate those differences vigorously, passionately, in good faith, through the normal democratic process. And sometimes we'll be just too far apart to forge an agreement.”
“You don't like a particular policy or a particular president? Then argue for your position. Go out there and win an election. Push to change it. But don't break it. Don't break what our predecessors spent over two centuries building. That's not being faithful to what this country's about.”
