The members of the Republican GOP committee from Loudoun County, Virginia, thought putting out this Halloween-oriented email message to their members was pretty cool. Note the photo of President Obama with a bullet hole in his head.  Isn't that considered treason??  Remember several years ago when the Republicans complained about criticizing President Bush during war time as treason??  Hmm.

Sadly, Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce after 72 days citing irreconcilable differences.  But don't let same-sex marriages occur or they will foul the sanctity of marriage.  Bwaa haa haa haa!!!!

Did my president lie??  President Obama specifically said that the troops in Iraq would be home for the holidays.  If you note the headline in the center of the collage above, I'm now reading that troops from Iraq will be moved to Kuwait.  That doesn't sound like home for the holidays!!!

"Tebowing"

The newest phrase for Christians is "Tebowing."  The phrase is named after Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.  "Tebowing" occurs when one drops to one knee and starts to pray,  even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different.  Tebow is known to do this before he starts each game.

You may recall that I've written about Tebow on this blog in the past for his college days when he would put Bible verses, usually John 3:16, on his eye black.

It seems that I recall a Bible verse that says one should go into his closet to pray and disparages those who make a spectacle out of their pious public prayer.

In any case, his prayer didn't seem to work as the Denver Broncos got their butts kicked Sunday by the Detroit Lions.
Karen and I have been in Morro Bay this weekend for Karen's birthday. Sunday evening we went to dinner at McLintock's in Shell Beach. We love this place and try to come here every time we're in the area. The weather here this weekend has been great, with sunny skies and temps in the low 80's.

One of the things they do at McLintocks is pour water from elevation. This young man was brave enough to allow the bus boy to pour water into a glass poised on his head while blind folded.

This was all that was left of the sunset when we rolled out of the restaurant stuffed to the gills.  Heading home tomorrow for work on Tuesday.

A white Halloween???  This is why we live on SoCal!!!  Snow and wide-spread power outages plague the North/East as a rare October snow storm drops some 10'' of snow.

Televangelist Pat Robertson says the Republican candidates are too extreme. Wow!! That's like having your drug intervention hosted by Lindsay Lohan, and Charlie Sheen driving the van. -- Will Durst

Its been announced this week that Lindsay Lohan will pose for Playboy Magazine.  Reports indicate Ms. Lohan asked for a cool million dollars, with Playboy offering $750,000.  The final amount is somewhere in between.  I would have agreed to half that!!!  If only....

Hillary Clinton turned 64 years old yesterday. (Wed) Happy Birthday Hillary.  Today, Donald Trump demanded to see her birth certificate. -- David Letterman

I love this photograph of them!!!

Sign of the times!!

This collector's edition Barbie Doll, with pink hair and several tattoos, was released earlier this month.  For a mere $50.00 you too could be the proud owner of a "Tattooed Barbie."
Oakland Mayor Jean Quan
Last night Oakland Mayor Jean Quan issued a statement about the police crackdown against Occupy Oakland protesters.  In it, she expressed concern for those injured and a commitment to minimize police presence at Frank Ogawa Plaza, at least for now.  Her statement, in part read;

I want to thank everyone for the peaceful demonstration at Frank Ogawa Park tonight, and thank the city employees who worked hard to clean up the plaza so that all activities can continue including Occupy Wall Street. We have decided to have a minimal police presence at the plaza for the short term and build a community effort to improve communications and dialogue with the demonstrators.

99% of our officers stayed professional during difficult and dangerous circumstances as did some of the demonstrators who dissuaded other protesters from vandalizing downtown and for helping to keep the demonstrations peaceful. For the most part, demonstrations over the past two weeks have been peaceful.

We hope they continue to be so. I want to express our deepest concern for all of those who were injured last night, and we are committed to ensuring this does not happen again. Investigations of certain incidents are underway and I will personally monitor them.

A 21 year old man in Vallejo, California took his friends up on a bet that landed him in the hospital but likely bruised his ego more than anything else. The man and his friends were in a park at about 9:00 PM Friday when he made a $100 bet that he could fit into a toddler swing. The friends took him up on the bet.

The guy squeezed himself into the swing using liquid laundry detergent. Then... you guessed it ... he got stuck. Then his friends left him there. The guy apparently stayed stuck in the swing until 6:00 AM when a park employee found him.  The swing was cut down and the guy and the swing were transported to a local hospital.

The Occupy Wall Street demonstrators clashed with the Oakland Police Department last night and this morning.  Oakland PD shot tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds.  One American Military veteran was shot in the head with a rubber bullet.  The OWS has been a non-violent protest.  I'll bet many of those being violent are just your everyday street thugs out to take advantage of the situation to attack the cops.

A special comment on the Oakland Police Department by Keith Olbermann.

"Occupy Wall Street" protesters took a road trip to New Canaan, Conn. to pay a visit to the home of GE CEO Jeff Immelt and voice their displeasure over perceived corporate greed and job cuts. Over 100 protesters stood outside Mr. Immelts home yelling, "no jobs, no peace."

Mr. Immelt is said to have made more than $20 million in compensation from General Electric in 2010.  ($5 million base yearly salary) GE netted more than $14 million in global profits in 2011 and cut a reported 19,000 jobs in the U.S. since 2008.  Oh and GE didn't pay any federal income taxes in 2009 or 2010.

The protesters spent the afternoon at Immelt's 6-bedroom, 10-bathroom, $5.25 million home.

A spokesman for GE said the GE has produced 10,000 new jobs in the U.S. since 2009 and is currently building its 16th new factory.

Geezer Rap!!!
