Yesterday, Thursday, our U.S.House of Representatives spent the day debating and voting on a bill that would allow hospital emergency rooms to refuse to perform emergency abortions to save a woman's life.  The bill, HR358, also required that no federal funds be spent on abortion, which is already the law. The bill would not pass the Senate and would be vetoed by President Obama if it landed on his desk.

The video above is a comment by Rep. Jackie Speier from California on an emergency abortion she had to have.  It also speaks to the question of why the Republicans are waisting their time on a bill they know won't pass instead of trying to find jobs and fix the ecomony.  Listen.
