What with the busy weekend, I almost missed the birthday of one of my favs, Lauren Holly.

Lauren turned 54 years young on the 28th.

I remember watching Elvira on KHJ-TV channel 9 in Los Angeles back in the 80's doing "Elvira's Movie Macabre."  She was a valley girl vampiress who told terrible jokes between commercials for horror movies.

I missed the bottom part of this story the first time.  The Seattle Seahawks fans gave the Texans who were kneeling a standing ovation.  That's so cool!!!

Thoughts of Fall

Fog in the mornings,
Cool moist breezes against one’s cheek.
Baggy sweater resists the chill,
Colored leaves crunch underfoot.

Early evening sunsets,
Blazing red and gold on the horizon.
Warm cocoa in a comfy chair,
Crackling fire in the hearth.

Extra blanket on the bed,
Warm woolly jammas between the sheets.
Fuzzy slippers on icy floors,
Fresh brewed coffee greets the morn.

Thanksgiving dinner prepared,
Family and friends around the table.
Prayers of gratitude proffered,
Love and joy carry the day.

During the recent NFL owners meetings the owner of the Houston Texans, Bob McNair, reportedly said, "we can't have the inmates running the prison" in response to NFL players taking a knee druing the National Anthem.  On Sunday all but ten players took a knee during the anthem in protest.  Way to go guys!!!
Last night's World Series game, game 5 in Houston, was very exciting.  Lots of runs scored, heart breaking come-backs from both teams.  The only bummer was that the Dodgers lost.  We have to win game 6 at Dodger Stadium tomorrow night or it's all over.  Go Dodgers!!!

Happy birthday to my sweetie who is much younger than me.
