The 99%

The city of Highland Park, Michigan, has a population of less than 12,000 people.  It has an unemployment rate of 22%. The average household income is $18,700. 42% of the residents live in poverty.

The city is in debt to the tune of $58 million.  They have a $4 million electric bill they can't pay.  The city council voted to turn off the city street lights and in fact have removed them, pole and all, from the city streets.

I keep saying people are hurting.
