Happy Birthday wishes go out to two-time Olympic Gold Medal figure skater Katarina Witt (pronounced Vitt) who turns 47 years young today. Katarina was born in Staaken, East Germany and now lives in Berlin.

Katarina was a six-time Gold medalist in the European Figure Skating Championships and a four-time Gold medalist in the World Figure Skating Championships.  In 1995, Katarina was voted into the Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

Today, Katarina co-owns a business called "WITH WITT Sports & Entertainment" which produces figure skating programs such as "Divas on Ice", "Enjoy the Stars", and "Winter Magic."

 

Katarina posed nude for Playboy Magazine in the December 1998 issue.  That issue became only the second sold-out issue.  The first was an issue with photos of Marilyn Monroe.
