Thanksgiving Confession
I cannot lie, I ate the pie,
Cross my heart and hope to die.
Vanilla ice cream on the top,
Cause no one tried to make me stop.
Some turkey too, though just the
brown,
Because it was the best in town.
Some stuffing made it on my plate.
So warm and moist I couldn’t wait.
Brown gravy on potatoes mashed,
Somewhere on my plate were stashed.
Dinner rolls with melted butter,
Boy that makes the tummy flutter.
A crisp green salad for my diet,
With Caesar dressing, you gotta try
it.
Did I mention dressing from the bird?
Caused my taste buds to be stirred.
Back for seconds I did run,
OK thirds, but just for fun.
In a coma now I lay,
Thankful for Thanksgiving Day.
