Two
Fingers of Whiskey
I’ll take
two fingers of whiskey please,
To quell the
aches and sleep with ease.
Two fingers
of whiskey to curb the pain.
Don’t look
at me with such disdain.
Two fingers
of whiskey, sir if you please,
To sooth the
fire in my aching knees.
Two fingers
of whiskey and not a drop more,
That golden
liquid I truly adore.
Two fingers
of whiskey: my fervent request,
To temper
the volume of day-to-day stress.
Two fingers
of whiskey I simply implore,
I’ll down it
real quick, then head for the door.
Two fingers
of whiskey: the elixir of life,
One for me
sir, and one for my wife.
Two fingers
of whiskey, a cure tried and true,
In no time
at all, I’ll be good as new.
