Sadly, Suicides by combat troops in the U.S. military surged to a record 349 last year, far exceeding American combat deaths in Afghanistan (295).  The total exceeds the record total of 310 suicides in 2009.  Lets hope that with the draw down of combat troops expected in the next two years suicides will also drop.
