Equality Reigns
They laughed, they cried, they lived a life,
Some might say was filled with strife.
Partners for more than 70 years,
Finally married amid their tears.
Two women paired for life you see,
Against the norms of society.
Finally able to legally wed,
“As it should be,” the courts have said.
Come out of the closet and stand with pride,
“We the people,” again applied.
This nation built on diversity,
Equality a certainty.
Rejoice with them, give out a cheer,
Raise a banner, hoist a beer.
Hug the one you love today,
Proud to live in the USA.
