My sister Kathy has a book out available on amazon.com for $10.00.  It's about a mother and daughter who run a general store in San Francisco during the gold rush (1850's) with a back story of a teenage girl who finds the daughter's diaries while growing up in San Francisco in the 60's.  It has a great story and lots of San Francisco history.  It would be a great beach or vacation book.
