One Man’s Battle Against the After Lunch Blahs

I try not to yawn,
An effort in deed.
To not appear rude,
I fight off the need.

My eyes are getting heavy,
My brain’s going numb.
My chin hits my chest,
The room starts to hum.

I catch myself lean,
There’s drool on my cheek.
Have I been seen,
Open my eyes – take a peek.

It was just a short nap,
Of this I confess.
Oh - I missed the whole lecture?
I hope there’s no test.
