This is the view of the Cincinnati skyline and river from my hotel room  I arrived in Cincinnati yesterday at about 3:30 PM eastern time completing my 2200 mile journey.  I checked in, got a frappichino from the Starbucks in the lobby, (woo hoo!!!) walked across the street and checked into the conference.  I returned to my room and took a nap.

The evening festivities weren't much to speak of, hot dogs and pasta.  I met up with a guy from Pomona PD, Tony Nguyn.  Jan and Robert arrived late and missed the dinner.  I met them afterward in a little bar across from their hotel where they had a sandwich and I had a beer.  Robert isn't feeling well.

Opening ceremonies are this morning and classes start this afternoon.
