The Reader

A single candle lights the way,

Adventure in the pages lay.

Tales of folks in far off lands,

Epic sagas oh so grand.

Turn the page the story grows,

Twists and turns the journey flows.

Suddenly the story takes a turn,

Anticipation starts to burn.

Chapter ten, another shift,

The captive mind is send adrift.

Trepidation tingles the reader’s spine,

Turn the page, see what you find.

Two more pages left to go,

How it ends I’ve got to know.

The hero comes to save the day,

And wins the girl.  Hip-hip hooray!!!
