Abortion Provider Shot to Death
Dr. George Tiller, 67, was shot and killed in the lobby of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas this morning. The suspect is still at large.
The story states, "Tiller has long been a focal point of protest by abortion opponents because his clinic, Women's Health Care Services at 5107 E. Kellogg, is one of the few in the country where late-term abortions are performed."
(Obligatory coroner's photo)
The police have a suspect description and license plate, so an arrest is eminent.
How sad is it that we are still killing each other over religious beliefs.
It has been rumored over the years that Stevie Nicks is a witch. You gotta like that in a woman!! She continues to deny the rumor, although she does admit to being a spiritualist.

As you can see Karen was looking hot in her suit around the pool.
Even though it was pretty cloudy, the sunset was quite impressive.
We arrived home safely on Sunday evening. Our flight from Honolulu was delayed 45 minutes at the gate but arrived within 15 minutes of our projected time of arrival. As always, it's good to go away, and even "gooder" to come home.

We came back to our hotel and hung out at the pool for the rest of the afternoon. When we returned to our room we found that a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries had been delivered. The card read; "Happy Anniversary With Love, Scott and Bruce." What a great surprise. Thanks again guys!!!
We caught the last of the sunset.

After getting settled into our room, we headed out for a short road trip north from our hotel. We ended up at Fleming Beach Park in Honolua Bay. The waves were at least 10' tall and crashing pretty close to the shore. A woman had to be rescued from the water and was taken away on a back board. In all my years of going to the beach, I have never seen an actual rescue done by the life guards. Today ended all of that. None of the life guards were women or looked like a Baywatch babe!! Oh well.
When we got back to our hotel room we found a card and complimentary bottle of champagne celebrating out 25th wedding anniversary. We sat on our patio after dinner and polished off the bottle of champagne.

It was partly cloudy and as the sun peeked through the clouds, the canyon walls seemed to change colors. It was more impressive than the actual Grand Canyon if you ask me.
We tried coconut and coconut milk. I'm not much of a coconut fan to begin with. The milk had a unique taste.
We drove to the top of the canyon anxiously waiting for the grand finale and what did we find? Clouds!! YUP. Clouds. No vista. No breathtaking canyon. Clouds!!!
After the falls we ended up at a beach Waipouu. On the way we picked up some heavy rain and wind. It wasn't about to stop me from going swimming though.
The ocean water here is about 15-20 degrees warmer than San Onofre. The waves were about 7-8 feet high and could really throw you around when they hit you. It was awesome!!!
After I got out of the ocean we sat on a picnic bench under an awning and watched the waves. The sun broke thru the clouds for about an hour and produced this rainbow. Of course my camera doesn't do it justice.
When the rain let up, we went for a walk along the beach. I found this sign in the area where I had just been in the water. Ooops!!
On our way back, we stopped and picked up Panda Express for dinner and brought it back to our bungalow. Quite tasty. It would appear that our hotel is on the dry side of the island as it didn't rain here all day.

We got a pretty decent view of Diamond Head.
The entertainment included this hula dancer.
Then this dancer got into the act!!!
A great sunset topped off the night!!
This is the view looking out from our porch.
After breakfast we went for a walk/run on the beach. I ran about 3/4 of a mile up the beach and then back. Karen walked up the beach ahead of me while I stretched and then back and then down the other way another 1/3 of a mile and back. It was quite a workout as the sand is soft and the entire run was up and down little hills.
After showers we went exploring the island. We found this spout hole that shot quite a gisser of water into the air. We also saw a turtle floating by about 10' out from the rocks.
We drove most of the way around the island and back. We picked up steaks, potatoes, and salad for dinner and had a BBQ on our porch.
