In a brief story from Crooksandliars.com, it was reported that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was booed out of a restaurant on Friday evening. The story goes on to say that several patrons of the restaurant booed as the governor walked in and sat down. The owner of the restaurant, seeing the disturbance he was causing, asked the governor to leave - which he did. The story doesn't name the restaurant because it is already getting nasty phone calls.

Ventured into the bowels of the City of Los Angeles to attend a rally of support for the union workers in Wisconsin Saturday morning. After a night of rain, the day turned out mostly clear with temps in the 50's. The rally was held in conjunction with rallies held in the capital cities of all 50 states and other major cities. So in essence, I was part of the voice of thousands of other American citizens voicing their support for unions and the American middle class.
The rally attracted about 1,000 people and had about a dozen speakers including a couple of city councilmen and State Rep. Chu.
Lots of union workers were there with a strong showing from the Teamsters.

The local media made an appearance, and could be seen wondering thru the crowd with cameras. Maybe I'll be on the telle this evening!!!
We were well protected with cops watching over us from the walk way above and another couple of units at the curb on 1st St. Plus the P.D. is across the street.
Several of the signs were addressed towards the Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

South Dakota lawmakers are out to make it as hard as possible for a woman to obtain an abortion in their fair state. The new law being moved thru the house, HB1217, erects an obstacle course of consultations and paperwork that women must endure before receiving legal medical procedures.
The new law would require a woman requesting an abortion first meet with a medical doctor. During this consultation, the doctor is to determine whether the woman has been under "coercion, subtle or otherwise" when deciding to get an abortion. A specific form is then completed by the doctor. The woman can schedule her procedure 72 hours from the time of the doctor's interview.
Within that 72 hour period, the woman is required to visit a pregnancy help center (in a separate location) to be interviewed again and told of the "education, counseling, and other assistance available to help her keep and raise her child." The woman is then required to obtain a completed form from the help center indicating the date and time of her visit, and who she spoke with.
On the day of the procedure, the woman arrives with her permission slip from the pregnancy help center. She is interviewed by the doctor performing the procedure and signs a consent form. Each of these forms is maintained permanently on file in the woman's medical file.
Republican Representative Roger Hunt, who introduced the bill, explains his thought process by stating, "it's vital to force women to have 72 hours to tame their tempestuous, impulsive lady-brains so that they can reflect on what choice she makes."

The fight in Wisconsin between Republican Governor Walker and the unions will effect each and every one of us today, tomorrow, and in the future. I posted this photo on my facebook account in support of the unions and their workers both in Wisconsin and around the United States. I hope you will consider doing the same.
