The State of New York has become the 6th state in the union to approve same-sex marriages tonight with a 33-29 vote. The bill will go into effect 30 days after Gov. Cuomo signs the bill, which he is expected to do.

In order to get it passed, there had to be amendments in place to allow a religious exemption that basically says that those types of organizations shall not be required to provide services, accommodations etc to same-sex marriages.

Tomorrow is apparently gay pride day in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  This is apparently a freeway bridge lit up in the city for the event.
