Happy Birthday wishes go out to Annette Carol Bening who turns 54 years young today. Annette is a four-time Oscar nominee for her roles in "The Grifters", "American Beauty", "Being Julia", and "The Kids Are All Right."
Annette has a BA degree from San Francisco State University in theater arts.
Annette is married to some guy named Warren Beatty and they have four children, two boys and two girls. Annette met Warren Beatty on the set of "Bugsy".
While I haven't seen any of the above mentions movies, I really enjoyed her in "Open Range" with Kevin Costner and "The American President" with Michael Douglas.

I love the way she smiles as much with her eyes as she does with her mouth.

Early Medieval literature was not written. It is was passed by word of mouth from one generation to another by English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish Medieval Bards. The origins of the stories about King Arthur and the Arthurian Legend are found in many Welsh legends and Celtic Myths which were told by the Medieval Bards.
The Medieval bards were a distinct class with hereditary privileges. They appear to have been divided into three great sections: the first celebrated victories and sang hymns of praise; the second chanted the laws of the nation; the third gave poetic genealogies and family histories. http://underwatergunfight.tumblr.com/page/57
I received an email from Scott Fahey, "POA Chaplin" regarding Memorial Day wishes for all Vets. In the beginning of the email, Scott wrote that he has a bumper sticker on his truck that says "OTHERS." He said it reminds him to think of others before himself.
Here was my response to him:
Here was my response to him:
Chaplin Scott,
The Gnostic Christians, pre-Roman
Catholic, believed that each of us has "God" in us. If you reach down and touch
the inside of your wrist, you too can experience "God." Your pulse, that spark
of life in you, that is evidence that "God" is in you.
That spark of life that controls thousands of things
going on inside of you that you have no control over? That is "God" in you.
Each of us has it. No one has more that the next, and you don't have to read a
special book or adhere to a special set of rules to get it. And best of all, you
can't lose it!!!
So therefore there are no "OTHERS." We are all one. The
Bible says to love God and love one another. But you have to look at it in the
broader sense of one another as everyone. "God" is like the sun in that it
shines on everyone equally. It shines on women just as men. It shines on
homosexuals just as hetersexuals. Jews and Muslims just as Christians. On and
on it goes.
There will never be peace on earth as long as humans
recognize "OTHERS." Wouldn't it be great if next Memorial Day we could say that
there had been no war casualities in the last year?? In know - "Pie in the
Sky"
Love ya Bro,
Fergie

It was a beautiful day for a bike ride today (Sunday). Started out at Fairmont Park in Riverside and rode about 10.5 miles S/W along the bike trail and then back. It was bright and sunny with temps in the high 70's.
The photo below is one of the small ponds in the park where the ducks usually hang out.
There were quite a few families out enjoying the river today.
I can tell it is summer as I saw my first snakes today. Two to be exact. One slithered across the bike trail in front of me. It was brown and skinny. The second one, shown below, was hanging out next to the bike trail with his head up checking things out. If you zoom in on the photo below you will see that it is black kinda checkered around it's head but it's tail is almost pink. All I know is that it was a snake and I stay clear of them.

The Pots Protests
Students and other protesters have taken to the streets in Quebec, Montreal, and many smaller towns throughout Canada protesting high student tuition costs and police brutality. The protests have been on-going for over 100 days now, and although mostly peaceful, some 2500 protesters have been arrested.
I like this idea. I have just the pot and wooden spoon for the job here in the U.S.

Pastor Charles Worley of the Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, NC, knows the way to take care of lesbians, homosexuals, and queers,
"I… figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers, but I couldn’t get it past the Congress. Build a great big large fence, hundred… fifty or a hundred-mile long. Put all the lesbians in there. Fly over and drop some food. Do the same thing with the queers and the homosexuals. And have that fence electrified till they can’t get out. Feed ‘em and… and you know what, in a few years they’ll die out. D’you know why? They can’t reproduce. If a man ever has a young’n, praise god it will be the first one."
The good pastor went to add, "God have mercy, it makes me pukin’ sick to think about… I don’t even whether you ought to say this in the pulpit or not… can you imagine kissing some man?"
The greatest commandment is to "love god, and love one another." But of course that means love our god, and love other Christians.
Streaker!!!
It seems that 22-year-old Collin Grundstrom lost a bet and had to streak the Phillies-Cardinals baseball game. As you can imagine, Collin was tackled to the ground by security, covered up, and escorted off the field. For you baseball fans, the Cardinals won the game 10-9.

In a quite innovative program, Bedford-Stuyvesant Preparatory High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. will make 500 condoms available at their June 7th prom. School principal Darryl Rascoe said, "students are welcome to take the condoms as they leave the prom, no questions asked. Students are not required to take them, but the option is available."
Worries about underage drinking or risky sex on prom night have prompted scores of prevention programs at schools around the country, from scheduling the event on weeknights to chaperoned after-parties. The prom condom distribution plan will be accompanied by a safe sex school assembly sponsored by the condom maker a few days before the prom. An essay contest on the topic of safe sex will be judged by the school’s English department.
NV Healthcare, who manufactors the Nuvo brand condoms, has offered the program to other schools. Bredford-Stuyvesant in the first school to take advantage of the program.
Sounds like a good idea to me.

First of all, I should make an effort
to meditate upon the equality between self and others.
I should protect all beings as I do myself,
because we are all equal in wanting pleasure and not wanting pain.
When both myself and others
are similar in that we wish to be happy,
What is so special about me?
Why do I strive for my happiness alone?
And when both myself and others
are similar in that we do not wish to suffer,
What is so special about me?
Why do I protect myself and not others?
