Not black and white
In a new Japanese Toyota ad, the long-haired 19-year-old Ukrainian Stav Strashko struts toward a car as the camera lovingly follows the model’s perfect, red bikini-bottomed butt. A jacket is seductively shed. And then Strashko turns around to reveal – she’s a man, baby! Yup, that bare chest is flat, but the bulge in the bikini bottom is not.
Mr. Strashko is androgynous, born with both male and female characteristics. He has a boyfriend and lives as a male. Many Gnostic Christians believed that "God" was androgynous and that Adam, who was made in "God's" image, was also androgynous. Male/female identification and sexual orientation are not always cut and dry or black and white, as some would have us believe. Food for thought.
I guess it's only fitting that a few cartoons be posted on the GOP convention that is scheduled to start today in Tampa, Florida.
Some are already questioning the parties ability to lead when they schedule their convention in Tampa Florida during the heart of the hurricane season.

Unbelieveable
Republican Judge Tom Head, a county judge in Lubbock, Texas, announced on a local television station that he would personally join the resistance against a United Nations' takeover of American sovereignty, which he says will occur if Presidcnt Obama is reelected. So he needs to raise local taxes to prepare the police to repel the civil unrest, and fight to get rid of President Obama.
"[Obama] is going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the UN. Okay, what’s going to happen when that happens? I’m thinking worst case scenario here. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. We’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations. We’re talking Lexington-Concord take up arms and get rid of the guy.
Now what’s going to happen if we do that, if the public decides to do that? He’s going to send in U.N. troops — with the little blue beanies. I don’t want ‘em in Lubbock County. Okay. So I’m going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say ‘you’re not coming in here’. “And the sheriff, I’ve already asked him, I said ‘you gonna back me’ he said, ‘yeah, I’ll back you.’”
Where do these people come up with these ideas???

Spent last night in Fort Bragg, California. I'm about 200 miles north of San Francisco on Hwy. 1. This morning I got up and went for a bike ride. It was about 48 degrees outside. I found this bike path to follow for awhile.
This is one of the views from the bike path. I only rode about 11 miles, but it was quite a nice ride with some spectacular views of the ocean.

I arrived in Cottage Grove Monday evening. There was an overturned semi one mile south of the off ramp for Cottage Grove, so I had to sit in traffic for about an hour before getting up to my off ramp. Freeway traffic was being taken off the freeway and sent thru Cottage Grove. I found the chief of police directing traffic at an intersection. My brother-in-law is a dispatcher for Cottage Grove PD so he was basically the scene coordinater, radio operator, and PIO. Steve came home from work pooped.
Tuesday morning I went for a bike ride along the Row River and out past Dorena Lake. What a pretty bike trail. I went out and back 34 miles in all. This first photo is the Row River from a bridge I crossed on my bike.
This is how the bike trail looks for most of the way.

Lake Dorena is a beautiful lake. There are notices all along the bike trail to stay out of the water as it has some kind of algae in it. I also only saw one boat on the lake, although it is a weekday.
