One year ago today the Dow Jones Industrials was at 14,164. Today the Dow, having dropped almost 200 points yesterday, and down another 100 points as I write this, is down to 9,139, a drop of over 5,000 points. Experts say the bottom may not yet be in sight.

Update: As of 12:10 PM the Dow has fallen 264 points to 8,992. This is the first time the Dow has gone below 9,000 points since September 2003.

Update II: The Dow closed today down 678 points to 8,579.
