Happy Birthday wishes go out to Raquel Welch who turned 70 years old on Saturday. Jo Raquel Tejada was born in Chicago, Il. She has been married four times and has two children.

Raquel started her career as a weather forecaster for the San Diego television station KFMB and as a model for Neiman Marcus. She had bit parts on many popular television series including "Bewitched," "McHale's Navy," and "The Virginian." Her first movie was "A Swingin' Summer."

Her career took off with her role in "One Million Years BC, where she was seen running around in animal skins. The poster from that movie started her career as a leading sex symbol in the 60's and 70's. Raquel made several trips to Vietnam with Bob Hope and the USO.

Raquel Welch won a "Golden Globe" for "Best Motion Picture Actress" for her role in "The Three Musketeers" in 1974, and was nominated for a "Golden Globe" for her performance in "Right to Die" in 1987. She has written "Raquel Welch: Beyond the Cleavage," and "The Raquel Welch Total Beauty and Fitness Program."
