Last weekend former Dodger manager Tommy Lasorda spoke at the University of La Verne commencement ceremony.
According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, after a glowing introduction by Jack Meek, professor of public
administration, which included Lasorda's many championships, awards and his
64-year-career with the Dodgers, Lasorda's well documented playful side and
quick wit made an appearance.
"After that introduction, I thought I was dead," Lasorda said to laughter
from the crowd.
On a more serious note, Lasorda's message was to "keep believing in your dreams."
