Competing in Prescott

The plane on the left is piloted by Josh and he is sitting in the run-up area waiting to compete in the "power off landing" event. Each competitor takes off and circles the airport before coming in for a landing. The object is to land your plane in a box marked by white lines on the runway. Each competitor does a total of three landings. After each landing, they run up the power and take off again without coming to a stop. In his three attempts, Josh came up short the first two times and hit the box the third time. We stayed most of the morning and watched the entire event. It was fun.

So we finally got to see Josh compete. Last year we went to Ohio for the nationals and never got to see him fly.

In the afternoon we drove over to the city of Sedona. Typical tourist spot with lots of shops selling T-shirts etc. We didn't stop to shop. The surrounding red rock was beautiful. It was a nice drive and my cruiser handled real well in the mountains.
