The "Beaver" is alive and well!!

Yes sirree folks, Jerry Mathers, aka Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver, is alive and well and celebrating his 60th birthday today. Mathers, of "Leave it to Beaver" fame, was born in Sioux City, Iowa, but grew up in Southern California. He graduated from Notre Dame H.S. in Sherman Oaks, Ca. and got his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California - Berkeley.

Jerry Mathers began acting at the ripe old age of two in commercials. He landed the role of "Beaver" at the age of nine. "Leave it to Beaver" ran from 1957 to 1963 which included 234 episodes. "Leave it to Beaver" ran in 80 countries and 40 languages.

There was a rumor that got started that Mathers was killed in Vietnam. Tony Dow, his "Leave it to Beaver" brother even sent the Mathers family flowers. Needless to say the rumors of his demise were premature. So Happy Birthday to the Beaver!!!
