Yesterday Karen, Josh, and I went to a "business man's special" Dodger baseball game starting at 12:10 PM. It had been ages since I had been to Dodger Stadium and there were quite a few changes.

The first thing we noticed is that it is now $15 to park!! For preferred parking it was $20!! So instead of being able to park within a few hundred feet of the gate to the view section, we had to park on the other side of the stadium, approx. 200 steps down from the gate. Cost: $15

When we arrived at the ticket booth, I found that the tickets for the view section, the cheapest seats in the house, were now $11 each. Had we bought them before game day they would have been $9. But to buy them ahead of time would have involved a $1.50 handling fee through their website so it was a push really. Cost: $33

Once inside, we had to have lunch. Dodger dogs were $5 each, large sodas were $5 each and a bag of peanuts was $3.75, etc. etc. Cost for lunch $50.50!!

The stadium was filled with thousands of kids from day camps and summer schools, most of which were sitting in the view section.

The game itself was a pitching duel with the final score; Dodgers 1 Rockies 0.

It took us an hour just to get out of the parking lot and 2 1/2 hours to get home.

Cost for the day; $98.50!!

No more Dodger games for me!!

Such a shame about the Dodger game. I tell Selina all the time that we have to go soon. Well, maybe just once. I have a lot of great memories of nights there with you guys.

Wow, did you have to take a second mortgage out on the house to do this??
