We parked across the street from the stadium and walked across this pedestrian bridge. We walked around the entire park before heading to our seats and getting dinner. I have to admit, their hot dogs don't compare to Dodger Dogs. As you can see from this photo, it was a beautiful evening.
Out seats were in the "nose bleed section," but that is not unusual. It turned out that we were surrounded by San Francisco Giants fans.
The city skyline looked really cool in the background of the stadium. It's lucky Tim Lincicim pitched a no-hitter, because the Giants were ahead by eight runs by the middle of the 5th inning. I don't believe many of the fans read their tickets, because many of them didn't arrive until close to 8:00 pm causing a nuisance as they tramped up the isles and found their seats.
The no-hitter was the first I have ever seen either on TV or in person. I noticed around the 5th inning that Lincicum was pitching a no-hitter and it just got more exciting as the game went along. By the 9th inning the crowd was on it's feet cheering every pitch and booing every ball called by the umpire. The no-hitter was aided by a great play by Sandoval at third base and a shoe-string catch in right field by Hunter Pence. The final out was a fly out to the left fielder. Before the fielder even made the catch, the Giants catcher Posey was running out to the mound and grabbing Lincicum in a bear hug. It was great to watch.
