The Graveyard Crew
You’ll
seldom see the graveyard crew,
Those men
and women all dressed in blue.
They stalk
around the streets at night,
Creeping
about quite out of sight.
They’re the ones
who spotlight the door,
Of your open
garage, side gate, and more.
They’re the
ones who check the lock,
Of every
door in a business block.
They’re the ones
who walk your schools,
Checking doors
and swimming pools.
They’re the
ones who spot light the home,
Of the
elderly woman who lives alone.
They’re the
ones at the horrific crash,
Finding bloody
hair on the crumpled dash.
They’re the
ones in the emergency rooms,
Comforting
the victims in their time of gloom.
You’ll
seldom see the graveyard crew,
Those men
and women all dressed in blue.
Their cause
is just, their motives clear,
To protect
and serve all you hold dear.
