I couldn't believe what I was reading on alternet.com, so I looked up and found the original story on Fox35 out of Orlando, Florida. It seems a young college student went to a Catholic service and received communion from the priest and then instead of eating the wafer, walked out of the church with it. The story from myfoxorlando.com states;

A UCF student claims he’s getting death threats for messing with something sacred. Webster Cook says he smuggled a Eucharist, a small bread wafer that to the Catholics is symbolic of the Body of Christ after a priest blesses it, out of mass, didn’t eat it, but instead walked with it.

Catholics worldwide became furious.

Webster’s friend, who didn’t want to show his face, said Webster took the Eucharist, to show him what it meant to Catholics.

Webster gave the wafer back, (I guess that's how they found out about it) but the Catholic League, a national watchdog organization for Catholic rights claims that is not enough. “We don’t know 100% what Mr. Cooks motivation was,” said Susan Fani a spokesperson with the local Catholic diocese. “However, if anything were to qualify as a hate crime, to us this seems like this might be it.”

The Catholic League has demanded Webster by kicked out of school. Webster is apparently receiving death threats because of his actions.

PZ Myers, a professor from the University of Minnesota, posted this story on his blog and has received death threats and the demand he be fired from his position at UoM.

Truly the "Love of God" is being shown in this incident.
