Day Two

Today is day two of our road trip. We were up early, had a great breakfast at the hotel, and hit the road by 8:00 a.m. Our route took us straight up I-5 into Oregon. We arrived in Cottage Grove at about 3:30 p.m. It was 95 degrees when we arrived, hottest its been here in several weeks.

Cottage Grove, Oregon is a town of about 9800 people located 20 miles south of Eugene. Cottage Grove is known for its many covered bridges and the downtown area was used for the ending parade sequence in the movie "Animal House."

My brother-in-law, Steve, is a dispatcher and part time IT guy for the 20 person Cottage Grove Police Department. My sister-in-law, Karen's sister Debbie, works for a private organization that arranges benefits for the elderly in the Lane County area. They have four children.

Tomorrow Corey and I are planning to take the youngest of the children to the Splash water park. Should be a fun day.
