Loving Support

The tests were in, diagnosis made,

breast cancer left her feeling betrayed.

A battle ahead, her attacker known.

full speed ahead, the gauntlet thrown.

The chemo treatments left her sick,

felt she’d been hit with a brick.

On she went receiving care,

eventually losing all her hair.

So in support we gave a luncheon,

burgers and hot dogs we were munchin’.

Shave your head or dye it pink,

a loving tribute don’t you think?

We’re all behind you, in your fight,

empathetic to your plight.

Knowing recovery is just ahead,

and brighter days for you instead.

Get Well Irene
