Friday the 13th
Friday the 13th, it’s a day like no other.
A day to use care and watch out for one another.
Filled with the fear of calamity and bad luck,
hope upon hope you’re not hit by a truck.
Watch for black cats and don’t walk under ladders,
a passing funeral procession could be even badder.
Don’t break any mirrors or start out on a trip,
Don’t get a haircut, your nails shouldn’t be clipped. (huh?)
Step on a crack and your mother's back aches,
Opening an umbrella inside's a mistake.
Run for the salt and toss it over your shoulder,
Or there’s a chance you won’t grow too much older.
Best to stay home and hide under the covers,
I’d choose the closet if I had my druthers.
Best to be vigilant, and cautious, and wary,
Friday the 13th,, can for some, be quite
scary.
