I'd like to take a moment to wish birthday wishes to actor Alan Alda who turns 72 years old today. Alan Alda is probably best know for his 11 year portrayal of Hawkeye Pierce in the series M.A.S.H. I still watch the re-runs of M.A.S.H. and have shared those experiences with my sons who are also fans.
He started acting on Broadway and has starred in many movies and TV shows. He is also a writer and director and has recently written his second book called, "Things I Overheard While Talking to Myself." His first book was called, "Never Have Your Dog Stuffed."
Alan Alda was born Alphonso Joseph D'abruzzo in New York City. He is married to his wife Arlene and has three daughters.
