Mission Accomplished In Iraq????

Today, May 1st, is the 5th anniversary of the day that President Bush landed on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, parked off the peaceful coast of California, in a fighter jet.

Right out of the movie "Top Gun", President Bush strut across the flight deck to the cheers of hundreds of sailors in full flight suit and carrying his flight helmet. With the banner "Mission Accomplished" flying over his head, President Bush announced to the world that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended."

The 4,061 dead men and women of our armed forces tell us that the President was a bit presumptuous in his assessment of the situation. Talk about a staged presidential moment gone awry!!!
